Celebrating Member Success in 2025!

To Our Members,

The strength of our community shines through your contributions. Every advancement, from new standards to certified products to devices working seamlessly together, relies on the engineers, product managers, executives, and teams from more than 850 organizations across 47 countries who drive this work forward with their expertise, collaboration, and commitment.

2025 was an extraordinary year, and its success belongs to you.

Shared Investment, Shared Progress

Your work led to the release of Zigbee 4.0 and introduced Suzi, our new Sub-GHz brand, bringing decades of trusted Zigbee innovation into expanded range, reliability, and security. You delivered Matter 1.5, completing the core bucket of everyday devices consumers expect, from lighting, locks, thermostats, sensors, and appliances to the newest additions, including cameras, closures, and soil sensors, all speaking the same language and solidifying the foundation of the smart home.

Your regional communities are driving real impact. The Japan Interest Group celebrated its first anniversary with 60+ participating companies, forging new partnerships and bringing Alliance technologies to one of the world's most discerning markets through localized events, education, and industry engagement. The Alliance Member Group China (CMGC) marked 10 years, and even after a decade in, they're finding new ways to create partnerships, educate developers through DevCons like Matter Open Day in Guangzhou (400+ attendees), and self-organize key marketing initiatives to expand our reach across China.

Supported by your efforts in certification, development is moving faster and becoming more predictable. The FastTrack Recertification and Portfolio Certification programs reduce friction and accelerate updates. Matter Compliant Platform Certification empowers silicon vendors to validate core functionality, enabling device makers to inherit that work, reducing testing, costs, and time to market. In a major milestone moment, Amazon Alexa/Alexa+, Apple Home, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings now accept Interop Lab test results for their "Works With" programs.

Insights Fueling Your Competitive Edge

The Omdia Cybersecurity Report underscored what’s at stake, revealing 84% of consumers consider security an essential factor in purchasing decisions. As regulations continue to fragment across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, the report highlights why the Alliance’s Product Security certification, built on a harmonized global baseline, is important to help manufacturers expand their reach to more markets with less duplication.

The Parks Associates’ White Paper, Smart Home Evolution: Unlocking Value, illustrates where the market is heading, reporting 13 million new U.S. households have entered the smart home segment since 2020, expanding the base to 54 million. The buyer profile has also shifted, with 38% now identifying as “Early Majority,” up from 20% six years ago, reflecting practical users seeking lasting value rather than early adopters. Additionally, 90% of businesses now use AI internally. Viewed as a whole, these trends point to a future where trust, simplicity, and interoperability shape the next phase of the IoT.

Shaping What Comes Next in 2026

Bringing the global IoT ecosystem together is essential to advancing this work, and Unify 2026 will do just that when top industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers gather in Austin, Texas, on June 16–18 for our first public event since Matter’s launch in 2022. It is here where we will gather to showcase innovation and exchange meaningful insights as the IoT landscape enters a transformative new chapter. It's an opportunity to accelerate the market together, showcase what you've built, and shape what comes next.

Thank you for your time, your talent, and your belief in open standards as a foundation for a more connected world. We’re proud to support your collective efforts in driving this industry forward.

Warmest wishes for a healthy, happy holiday season and a bright 2026!
